Last Week at AAPEX: Fred Bunting Receives Art Fisher Award

AWDA presented the 2007 Art Fisher Memorial Scholarship Award to Fred A. Bunting in recognition of his passion for training and education. Bunting received this honor during AWDA’s general session, held last Sunday night in Las Vegas. The Art Fisher Memorial Scholarship Award is presented annually to an aftermarket company or individual that demonstrates outstanding commitment to education and training, either within their own companies or throughout the industry. Given in memory of former AWDA chairman Art Fisher, the award grants substantial scholarships in the name of the award winner to two students enrolled in the automotive aftermarket management program at Northwood University.

Don McEntee Named VP of Marketing for SKF Vehicle Service Market, North America

SKF has appointed Don McEntee vice president of marketing of the SKF Vehicle Service Market (VSM), North America Business Unit, effective immediately. McEntee will report to Mike McGrath, president of the VSM North America Business Unit. In his new position, McEntee will manage an expanded marketing organization that includes cataloging, communications, marketing, pricing, product management, program distribution and sales administration.

Two Valuable New University of the Aftermarket Workshops to Precede AAPEX Show in Las Vegas

The University of the Aftermarket will offer two new three-hour business workshops on Monday, Oct. 29, at the Venetian Resort Hotel in Las Vegas. The new workshops – “Improving Sales Proficiency” and “Fact-Based Marketing/Category Management” – will enable aftermarket professionals to enhance their competitive skills and earn continuing education units (CEU) in conjunction with the 2007 Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo (AAPEX), which opens Tuesday, Oct. 30.

Delphi Donates $10,000 to the University of the Aftermarket Foundation

Delphi Product & Service Solutions President Frank Ordonez recently presented the University of the Aftermarket with a $10,000 check from Delphi. The donation was given to the University of the Aftermarket Foundation General Endowment fund, which is used to support continued education in the aftermarket.
