University of the Aftermarket’s Leadership 2.0

“Team Envision” — one of the groups of aftermarket execs that recently participated in the University of the Aftermarket’s Leadership 2.0 program — has been selected to present its group project at the 2008 Global Automotive Aftermarket Symposium (GAAS), which takes place May 20-21 in Chicago. The team, comprised of Nataki Barnes (Federal-Mogul Corp.), J.R. Bishop (Federated Auto Parts), Jim Dykstra (Dykstra’s Auto Service), T.J. Fontana (Tenneco) and Mike Harvey (Affinia), will present on the topic of telematics.

Aftermarket Professionals Graduate from University of the Aftermarket’s Leadership 2.0 Program

Leadership 2.0, the University of the Aftermarket’s Executive Development Program, concluded on Friday, April 18, with a graduation ceremony for its 19 participants. GAAS Approved for University of the Aftermarket AAP and MAAP Credits

The upcoming Global Automotive Aftermarket Symposium (GAAS) has been approved for continuing education credits (CEU) by Northwood University’s University of the Aftermarket. The Symposium is scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday May 20-21, at the Hyatt Regency O’Hare in Chicago. GAAS attendees will earn 1.0 CEUs toward the Automotive Aftermarket Professional (AAP) or Master Automotive Aftermarket Professional (MAAP) certifications.

Brian Cruickshank Named Director of the University of the Aftermarket

After a four-month national search, Brian Cruickshank, AAP, has been named director of Northwood University’s University of the Aftermarket (U of A), effective Feb. 4. Cruickshank, an award-winning automotive journalist and editor, spent the last 14 years at Babcox Publications where he served in a number of editorial and leadership roles. Since 1999, he has worked as the editor of Counterman magazine, as well as directing the editorial content of all of Babcox Publication’s AAPEX properties, including AAPEX Today, the official daily magazine of the AAPEX show in Las Vegas.

Dave Caracci Named Global Symposium Chairman

Global Automotive Aftermarket Symposium (GAAS) founder and chairman emeritus Mort Schwartz recently announced the appointment of Dave Caracci as the new chairman of the symposium. Caracci is president of Caracci Aftermarket Strategies and past chairman of the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association. In addition, he is the current chairman of the University of the Aftermarket Foundation.
