TROY, Mich. “Team Envision” — one of the groups of aftermarket execs that recently participated in the University of the Aftermarket’s Leadership 2.0 program — has been selected to present its group project at the 2008 Global Automotive Aftermarket Symposium (GAAS), which takes place May 20-21 in Chicago.
The team, comprised of Nataki Barnes (Federal-Mogul Corp.), J.R. Bishop (Federated Auto Parts), Jim Dykstra (Dykstra’s Auto Service), T.J. Fontana (Tenneco) and Mike Harvey (Affinia), will present on the topic of telematics.
Participants in Leadership 2.0 are grouped into teams, which then collaborate on an industry topic of their choosing. Teams work on their respective projects between sessions I and II, and present their findings to the entire class during the second session, recently held April 14-18 in Troy, Mich. The best group project, as judged by the entire class, is invited to present at GAAS.
“This is a unique opportunity for these future industry leaders to have center stage at a marquee industry conference,” said University of the Aftermarket Director Brian Cruickshank. “While all the groups worked very hard on their projects, Team Envision really stood out as having something important to say about a relevant and timely industry issue. I am sure GAAS attendees will enjoy their thought-provoking presentation.”
The University of the Aftermarket’s Leadership 2.0 is an intense and intellectually challenging two-part executive development and learning experience, deeply rooted in the theoretical and practical application of leadership principles in the automotive aftermarket. Participants receive 6.0 credits toward completion of their Automotive Aftermarket Professional (AAP) or Master Automotive Aftermarket Professional (MAAP) certifications. Participants in this year’s program represent a wide-array of aftermarket companies at all levels of the industry.
