News that Hytec Automotive has been named a preferred vendor for the Automotive Distribution Network was also a popular news item on AMN this week. As a preferred vendor, Hytec becomes the sole supplier of new water pumps for the Network’s Parts Plus and IAPA stores.
O’Reilly Automotive reported this week that its third quarter 2007 earnings brings the company to 56 quarters of record revenues and earnings since the company went public in April 1993. O’Reilly has reported third quarter 2007 net income of $53.1 million, up more than 10 percent from the third quarter of 2006.
Another highly read news item on AMN this week came from auto parts distributor and franchise company 1-800-Radiator, which announced that it will buy the assets of 36 Proliance locations. Proliance, a manufacturer and distributor of aftermarket heat exchange and temperature control p rod ucts for automotive and heavy-duty applications, is selling the assets of these locations as part of a restructuring initiative.
