Geotab Inc., a connected transportation solutions provider, announced the formation of the Geotab Sustainability Alliance. This collaboration involves 28 partners, each providing unique solutions and services aimed at enhancing fleet efficiency and reducing carbon emissions. The alliance focuses on supporting fleets in sustainability efforts, risk reduction and meeting regulatory requirements.
This initiative addresses the challenge of decarbonizing transportation, a sector responsible for a significant portion of global greenhouse gas emissions. Through the alliance, Geotab aims to promote the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) and sustainable practices by offering innovative solutions and data-driven insights.
Neil Cawse, founder and CEO of Geotab, emphasized the role of data in environmental management. “Data insights are critical to measuring and managing environmental impact and moving the needle on sustainability. The Geotab Sustainability Alliance is accelerating change and helping organizations not only meet their targets, but improve their bottom line,” he said.
The alliance’s partners cover a broad range of sustainability services, including:
- Electric vehicle OEMs: They are embedding Geotab solutions in new EVs to facilitate fleet management.
- Charge management and EV charging station providers: These partners focus on optimizing charging processes to ensure EV readiness and support carbon and cost reduction.
- Fuel management providers: They specialize in tracking and reducing fuel consumption for a better carbon footprint.
- Route optimization partners: They assist fleets in deploying EVs more efficiently to minimize travel distance, costs, and emissions.
- EV fleet and sustainability consultants: These consultants use data insights to enhance EV and sustainability services and software.
- Emerging solutions: Geotab is working with companies developing new solutions in areas like ESG software, battery health, and charging services.
Eric Mallia, vice president of sustainability Solutions at Geotab, highlighted the increasing demand for data in fleet sustainability.
