Apollo Tyres launched a new 385/55 R22.5 variant of its EnduMile long-haul trailer (LHT) tire, which it says is its most fuel-efficient truck trailer product. The new product is available now across Europe, complementing the debut EnduMile LHT which was launched in 385/65 R22.5 format in October. Apollo Tyres says its LHT tire is A-rated for rolling resistance and for road noise, emitting 70dB during industry-standard test procedures.
“We’ve seen strong demand for our first LHT product since it was launched last year, and we look forward to building on that momentum with this new size option,” said Yves Pouliquen, group head of sales and marketing at Apollo Tyres Europe.
The company said the tire’s broad and stable contact patch optimizes pressure distribution to improve performance, fuel efficiency and wear resistance, while a new blend of polymers and fillers ensures consistent levels of grip on wet surfaces. Apollo adds the “free-rolling” tread pattern was developed for trailer axles and integrates a compact center rib that maximizes roadholding, curb noise and ensures efficient operation. Additionally, the company says the EnduMile LHT’s carcass is durable enough to facilitate retreadability.
The EnduMile LHT underwent two years of both virtual and real-life testing. Designed and developed by Apollo Tyres’ global R&D team in the Netherlands, it is being manufactured at the company’s facility in Hungary.
