Brembo’s Chief CSR Officer Cristina Bombassei emphasized the importance of sustainable growth and the company’s commitment to impactful, transparent actions in response to increasing environmental and social awareness.
The report also noted Brembo’s focus on natural resource management, promoting process and product circularity. It highlighted the company’s efforts in water recovery and the use of secondary raw materials, such as processing residues and scrap ferrous materials. Brembo said it recovered about 440,000 tons of waste produced in 2023, 88% of the total.
Brembo engages its workforce of over 15,600 across 15 countries, encouraging them to submit innovative projects. The company awarded the fifth Brembo Sustainability Awards in 2023, with 57 projects entered.
Additionally, Brembo organized the Net Zero Supply Chain Workshop in 2023, attended by about 300 key suppliers to expedite the supply chain decarbonization. In recognition of its environmental efforts, Brembo scored A- in both climate change and water resource management from the CDP (formerly Carbon Disclosure Project) in 2023, the company said.
Brembo added it also supports various social programs through partnerships with local NGOs. One notable program is the “House of Smile” in India, established in 2017. It offers education, psychological support, medical care, and vocational training, benefiting over 5,000 women and children in severe vulnerability.
