Top aftermarket supplier executives can count on hearing the latest industry trends in China’s growing aftermarket and an opportunity to network with fellow aftermarket professionals at the quarterly meetings of the China Aftermarket Forum (CAF) of the Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association (AASA).
“The aftermarket in China has experienced tremendous growth, and it will be the largest aftermarket in the world in the future,” said Paul McCarthy, MEMA senior vice president and AASA executive vice president. “AASA established its China Aftermarket Forum over a decade ago to support the growth of our member companies’ business in this fast-developing global market. Over the years, CAF has grown to a record number of members and an active community of the leading aftermarket executives responsible for their company’s operations in China.”
The Forum’s Q3 2018 meeting on Sept. 7 is a prime example of the presentations featured at the gatherings, according to AASA. Members engaged in discussions with guest speakers Jiang Renhai, founder and president, Kuaizhun Auto Parts (fast-growing aftermarket customer KZMall) and Mark Zhang, deputy director, auto repair parts executive committee, CAMRA & CEO, UQI Auto of Beijing New Auto Tech Co. Ltd., who addressed the topic of, “When Supply Chain Meets Blockchain.”
The CAF quarterly meeting agendas are planned by its Executive Committee, which also facilitates the highly valued discussions among members during meetings. At the Q3 2018 meeting, the following committee members were honored for their contributions to the CAF, the supplier industry and aftermarket:
- Philippe Thegner, Hella
- Dominic Seto, Valvoline
- Ricky Wang, Brake Parts Inc

The next CAF event is the Automotive Aftermarket Summit, which takes place on Thursday, Nov. 29, held concurrently with Automechanika Shanghai and co-hosted by Messe Frankfurt. The Q4 2018 CAF meeting will be held following the Summit on Friday, Nov. 30.
The CAF is comprised of the leaders of China aftermarket operations for international aftermarket suppliers. Its membership includes the top global aftermarket suppliers in the region.
