Ten Automechanika Trade Fairs to Focus on Future Topics

The focus is on sustainability and the transformation of the automotive aftermarket.

This year, a total of 10 Automechanika trade fairs will be held around the globe. The focus is on sustainability and the transformation of the automotive aftermarket. This transformation is also underlined by the new artistic motifs by photo artist Rafael Neff at the beginning of the year.

What could urban spaces look like in the future and how will we be mobile in the future? The photo artist Rafael Neff has developed his very own visions for this. In the motifs, futuristic-looking metropolises, new components, and solutions can now be discovered alongside classic aftermarket products. These were elaborately photographed and artfully staged. Michael Johannes, brand manager Automechanika, explained, “The new motifs exemplify the transformation of mobility – and do so in a characteristic way that is well-suited to an Automechanika and thus to the aftermarket. To realize this, our exhibitors continue to support us with their products and solutions. The pictures impressively show the diversity of the range of products at our fairs in a new futuristic context. For this year’s fairs, the topics of innovations, sustainability, transformation, further training and recruiting are at the top of the agenda.”

The second edition of the world’s leading trade fair Eurobike, driver of the sustainable mobility revolution with a focus on cycling, sport, health, travel and future smart mobility, will kick off in Frankfurt from 21 to 25 June with a lot of momentum. Thematic overlaps and synergies with Automechanika arise both in the field of electric drive systems and in the areas of inner-city transport and logistics as well as light electric vehicles.

This year, the first international meeting place for the automotive aftermarket will exceptionally be Feb 15-18 in Shenzhen, organized by the Automechanika Shanghai team. At the Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center, a total of 3,500 exhibiting companies will show their latest products and solutions. The special Innovation4Mobility area with forum, product presentations, networking lounge and start-up area is not only a stage for innovative mobility solutions, but also offers inspiration and space for exchange and networking. The Green Repair Zone, the special area “A new era of commercial vehicles” and the Motorsport and High Performance Area are further highlights at the fair. The extensive program with more than 50 events such as the Tomorrow’s Service & Mobility Summit, the China International Tyre Industry Conference, the International Summit of Connected-Vehicle Policies and Regulations, the Used Car Strategy and Development Forum and the SAE Vehicle Electrification and Autonomous Vehicle Technology Forum will also ensure the transfer of knowledge and the necessary know-how. Live presentations and training will be offered on the key areas of electric vehicle maintenance and repair and customizing.

In Malaysia, the automotive industry has been a major contributor to the country’s economy for years and plays an important role in the overall industrial transformation, digitalization and electrification. Against this background, the next Automechanika Kuala Lumpur will be held from March 16-18 under the motto “Sourcing, Entertainment and Training.” The fair is an important industry meeting point for the ASEAN region, where more than 300 exhibiting companies will showcase their latest products. Visitors can expect an exciting live and online program such as the Digitalisation and Electrification Conference, the Smart Factory & Industry 4.0 Conference and the Fleet Management Conference. Further education and recruiting are also a focus at the fair. Experts will address the question of how to build a workforce that can handle new technologies, business models and individual customer requirements. The Automotive Manufacturing and Transformation Conference shows how companies can increase their competitiveness and productivity using modern technologies such as robotics, IoT and AI. The Collision Repair Training Workshop will be very practical: here the latest developments in the repair and maintenance of passenger and commercial vehicles will be presented and tested. This includes diagnostics, smart repair, ADAS calibration and vehicle coding, as well as modern workshop management systems. Exchanging ideas and networking with other industry experts will not be neglected either: the Auto NITZ Party and the matchmaking program Match up will ensure this.

Kazakhstan, the country with the largest and most powerful economy in Central Asia, connects continents and regions due to its geographical location in the heart of Central Asia. With the new Silk Road, the country is becoming the largest business center in the region; making it the ideal base for Automechanika Astana, which will take place from April 12-14. Futuroad Expo Astana, the only trade fair for commercial vehicles in Kazakhstan, will be held parallel to Automechanika Astana.

At Automechanika Frankfurt 2022, the new “Automechanika Lovers” program has been launched. For exhibiting companies taking part in at least three Automechanika fairs, Automechanika will offer free additional visibility in the form of branding opportunities to the fair. The offer is valid from September 2022 to 31 August 2024, with Automechanika Frankfurt 2022 being the first participation for all exhibitors.
