Sichuan Automotive Industry Looks Forward To A Strong Year Following A Successful 2016

More than 750 companies showcased the latest products and services to more than 18,000 international buyers and trade visitors that attended the event in late May in Southwestern China.

The fourth edition of the Chengdu International Trade Fair for Automotive Parts and Aftermarket Services (CAPAS) opened its doors from May 25-27. Jointly organized by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Automotive Sub-Council (CCPIT-Auto); Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai) Co. Ltd.; and China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Sichuan Council (CCPIT-Sichuan), the show was a one-stop platform for business, information exchange and investment in Southwestern China.

Taking advantage of the fair’s strategic location, an increasing number of companies joined this year. More than 750 companies showcased the latest products and services to more than 18,000 international buyers and trade visitors in 35,000 square meters of exhibition space under the roof of the Chengdu Century City New International Exhibition & Convention Center in China.

As a leading trade fair for automotive parts and aftermarket services in Southwestern China, CAPAS continues to grow in line with the fast-moving market and to support exhibitors in the expansion of their business within the region. Numerous leading market players including APG, Bosch, Botny, BPI, FAW, Gesol, Haiye, KAFURD, LIQUI MOLY, Luoshi, MANN+HUMMEL, MEINEKE, Motul, PDK, Ruiming, SKYFIL, Snap-on, SORL, Strona and Trigo participated in the show to capitalize on the market.

According to the Traffic Management Bureau of the Public Security Ministry, Chengdu and Chongqing recorded 4.12 million and 3.28 million car owners respectively in 2016 and ranked second and third among 49 Chinese cities with more than 1 million automobile owners recorded. Known as one of the most important car manufacturing bases in the nation, a total of 4.45 million vehicles were manufactured last year in Sichuan and Chongqing.

The figures reflected that Sichuan and Chongqing play a leading role in driving forward economic development in Southwestern China. Its dynamic car-manufacturing industry is elevating the development of the regional automotive market, according to the event organizers.
