Auto Value/Bumper to Bumper Launches National Charity Program

A new nationwide program that helps victims of domestic violence and abuse gain their freedom through the donation of refurbished cars has been launched by Auto Value/Bumper to Bumper. This unprecedented vehicle gift program is sponsored by the warehouses, parts stores and certified service centers flying the Auto Value/Bumper to Bumper flags. Aftermarket Auto Parts Alliance, parent company of Auto Value and Bumper to Bumper, announced the new program yesterday at AAPEX.

AASA Recognizes Long-time Member Companies

The Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association (AASA) honored 17 companies that marked membership anniversaries of more than 25 years during the Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo (AAPEX).

R&B Announces Proposed Name Change in First Quarter Earnings Report

R&B announced financial results for the first quarter ending April 1. Sales increased 13 percent to $68.9 million from $61.2 million in the same period last year. Net income in the first quarter of 2006 was $3.42 million compared to net income of $3.45 million in the same period last year. Diluted earnings per share for both the first quarter of 2006 and the first quarter of 2005 was 19 cents. The company also announced that, subject to shareholder approval, it intends to change its name and trading symbol to Dorman Products, Inc. and DORM, respectively.

The Marx Group Wins Four Print Media Awards

The Marx Group, a full-service marketing communications, PR, and strategic business consulting company, recently won four print media awards for 2006. Two awards were presented to The Marx Group for work done on behalf of Macon, GA-based ANSA Automotive. One award was presented for The Marx Group’s work with Holland, MI-based Sloan Transportation Products. The final award was for work done in collaboration with Colmar, PA-based Dorman Products.

R&B Reports Sales and Earnings for the Fourth Quarter and Year

R&B, Inc. today announced financial results for the fourth quarter and year, which ended December 31, 2005. Sales increased 14 percent to $74.5 million from $65.1 million in the same period last year. Net income in the fourth quarter of 2005 was $4.4 million compared to net income of $4 million in the same period last year. Diluted earnings per share in the fourth quarter of 2005 increased 9 percent to 24 cents from 22 cents in the same period last year.

During Automotive Aftermarket Industry Week 2005 in Las Vegas, Underhood Service, ImportCar and Brake & Front End magazines presented several aftermarket companies with its prestigious Readers’ Choice Award. Of the hundreds of advertisers who seek readers’ attention, these companies are among the foremost communicators in the industry. Only 10 companies earned this distinction from each magazine.
