AKRON, OH – There is no better way to determine the success of your advertising message than by hearing from the customers themselves. Each year, Counterman magazine asks its readers to select the companies that are most successful in this challenging task through its annual AdScope study.

This year at the AAPEX Show in Las Vegas, Counterman magazine presented 10 aftermarket companies with its prestigious Readers’ Choice Award, which is based on the results of the study. The 2005 Counterman Magazine Reader’s Choice Award winners are: Anco, Cardone, Denso, Dorman, Gates, Loctite, Monroe, Performance Friction, Trico and Wagner.

“All of our advertisers do a great job communicating their messages to our very important audience. However, these 10 companies have risen above the rest in the eyes of our readers, and we are honored to recognize them with this award,” said Jon Owens, publisher of Counterman.

Owens added, “The AdScope study is a true measurement of ad effectiveness. It means our readers have noticed you!”

To select the winners, Counterman conducted readership surveys covering the January, April and July 2005 issues of the magazine. Subscribers were contacted in the months following each issue and asked which ads they recalled seeing and reading. A score was generated for each ad in those three issues. These numbers were then combined with another number rating consistency, to calculate the top winners.
