NACE 2007 Conference Program Announced

The 25th annual International Autobody Congress & Exposition (NACE) has announced that the 2007 Conference Program will deliver a comprehensive compilation of sessions, speakers and topics – addressing the needs of today’s collision repair professional. NACE 2007 will be held Oct. 31-Nov. 3, at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas. The educational conference will run from Oct. 31-Nov. 3 (Wednesday-Saturday) and the exposition will take place Nov. 1-3 (Thursday-Saturday).

Umicore Acquires Delphi’s Automotive Catalyst Business for $55.6 Million

Specialty materials group Umicore said it has agreed to acquire Delphi Corp’s automotive catalyst business for $55.6 million. Delphi will ask the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for permission for the sale because the company has been in Chapter 11 since October 2005. Under U.S. bankruptcy law, the unit must be put up for a competitive bidding auction. Umicore said it expects the auction to take place toward the end of July, and, if its bid succeeds, a deal should be concluded soon after.

ITW Successfully Completes Click Commerce Tender Offer

Illinois Tool Works Inc. (ITW) has successfully completed its cash tender offer to purchase all outstanding shares of common stock of Click Commerce. Click Commerce is a provider of on-demand supply chain management solutions. The company works with clients such as Alaska Airlines, BASF, Citibank, Delphi, Eastman Kodak Company, Jabil Global Services, Lockheed Martin, Microsoft, Pier 1, Ryder and Verizon to coordinate and optimize business processes, accelerate revenue, lower costs and improve customer service.
