CLEVELAND — Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corp. has named Donald McGrath vice president, communications. McGrath joined the company in mid-January and leads Eaton’s internal, external, digital and brand communications.
McGrath joins Eaton from BASF North America, where he had been vice president, corporate communications since 2002. He was previously vice president, global communications for Rockwell Automation and before that was director, corporate communications for Textron.
McGrath began his career in the U.S. Army, where he served for 22 years. While in the Army, McGrath served in a number of communications positions including press secretary and spokesman for the Army chief of staff at the Pentagon and director of public affairs for the United States Military Academy at West Point. He held the rank of lieutenant colonel upon retiring from active duty in 1996.
McGrath holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and a master’s in communications from Clarion University in Pennsylvania. He is a member of the Civilian Public Affairs Committee at West Point and the Arthur W. Page Society and is an accredited member of the Public Relations Society of America.
