AASA announced that David Wilbanks, senior vice president of merchandising, O’Reilly Auto Parts, will be a featured speaker during the 2020 AASA Global Summit being held Feb. 7 in Coral Gables, Florida.
In his session, “Customer Perspective: O’Reilly Auto Parts,” Wilbanks will discuss O’Reilly’s growth strategy and approach to a broadening supply base, plus its view on evolving aftermarket channels and brand protection.
“The next decade may see major disruptive technologies hit the aftermarket,” said Wilbanks. “That uncertainty calls for proactive planning and collaboration with our business partners. I am excited to discuss O’Reilly’s approach to these challenges and give our supplier base an update on our recent international expansion.”
“Hearing directly from one of the nation’s largest retailers is a major benefit to suppliers focused on remaining competitive in the global automotive aftermarket,” said Paul McCarthy, AASA President and COO. “We are extremely grateful that David and the O’Reilly Auto Parts team will share their perspectives on recent global challenges at the 2020 AASA Global Summit.”
The 2020 AASA Global Summit will explore other important topics as well. Donna Wagner, MAAP, will lead the session, “Global Shifts in Automotive Trade: From Liberalization to Protectionism.” This review of the dramatic shifts from an open trade environment to a fearful closed border mindset will provide exporters with insights on how to navigate this new era. Eric Farnsworth, vice president and Washington head of the Council of the Americas, will lead the session, “The Political & Social State of Latin America,” and review the latest transformations and opportunities in Latin America. Robert Zhu, chairman and CEO of WONH Global Industries, manufacturer and distributors of TrakMotive branded products, will lead the session, “Regional Report: Evolving China Aftermarket.” This session will highlight the latest shifts and trends shaping the aftermarket in China.
