HELLA Appoints Wiedmann to Head Global Spare Parts Business

Dr. Marcel Wiedmann succeeds Stefan van Dalen, now a member of the HELLA management board responsible for the Lifecycle Solutions Business Group.

Effective Jan. 1, Dr. Marcel Wiedmann has assumed leadership of the global spare parts and workshop business at HELLA, a global automotive supplier operating under the FORVIA brand. In this new role, Wiedmann reports to Stefan van Dalen, a member of the HELLA management board responsible for the Lifecycle Solutions Business Group. Van Dalen was previously the head of the spare parts and workshop business.

Wiedmann, 45, joined HELLA in September 2017 and has served in various roles, including head of the HELLA corporate centre Asia and executive vice president of finance and controlling in China. Before HELLA, he worked for Robert Bosch GmbH and McKinsey & Company. He holds a degree in economics and has held various management positions in aftermarket and Logistics areas at HELLA.

“Dr. Marcel Wiedmann is a very experienced manager with great international expertise,” van Dalen said. “We are therefore delighted to entrust him with the management of our global spare parts and workshop business.” He highlighted the growth opportunities in the workshop and spare parts business driven by electrification, automated driving and digitalization, expecting Wiedmann to significantly advance the business.

Wiedmann expressed his enthusiasm for his new role: “I am pleased to be taking over the management of the spare parts and workshop business and am approaching this new task with the utmost commitment.” He acknowledged the contribution of approximately 2,000 employees worldwide and the successful collaboration with global business partners. Wiedmann aims to continue the established framework while also exploring new markets and expanding the product range.

The spare parts and workshop business falls under the Lifecycle Solutions Business Group at HELLA. The company offers a portfolio of around 46,000 wear parts, spare parts and accessories in the independent aftermarket. Hella Gutmann Solutions, a subsidiary based in Ihringen, Germany, serves the workshop business. It focuses on vehicle diagnostics, battery testing, exhaust testing, light adjustment, calibration and data-based services. Adnan Cemal, who became managing director of Hella Gutmann Solutions on July 1, 2023, reports to Wiedmann.
