IAM: Autopromotec's International Workshop Program Expands

Autopromotec’s International Workshop Program Expands

Autopromotec announces six workshops designed to involve players from aftermarket supply chains around the world.

More content, more opportunities to meet and catch up and more networking: the 2022 edition of Autopromotec will be expanded with IAM (International Aftermarket Meetings), a round of six workshops of a global nature and with a European focus, which puts the spotlight on the most relevant issues for the sector, bringing the main players together for a series of in-depth meetings. Event organizers say the strategy for IAM is based on Autopromotec’s extensive international reach and close relationships with all sector associations at a European and global level, and represents a natural evolution of the International Aftermarket Meeting, the influential meeting organized by Autopromotec during previous editions of the event, which has delved deeper into the most relevant issues for the aftermarket.

The six meetings of the IAM calendar will be held during the first two days of the 2022 edition of Autopromotec (May25-26), organized with the contribution of EGEA (European Garage Equipment Association) and the main national and international trade associations. The focus of the meetings, specifically designed for an international audience, particularly European, will be on various central issues for the post-pandemic automotive world and will offer all supply chain players a unique opportunity to get up to date and share experiences.

An Opportunity For International Dialogue

Emanuele Vicentini, international developments at Autopromotec, announced the news by saying, “At Autopromotec, we place great importance on international promotion, which is why we created IAM, a series of international workshops where stakeholders from the various aftermarket supply chains can come together. This year, as the trade fair restarts, there is a fundamental need to bring aftermarket specialists together for an occasion focused on analysis, sharing and networking. Latterly, long-distance connections have been essential for staying in touch with your closest network, but it is only at a trade fair that all the various strands of the aftermarket supply chain can meet again.”

Vicentini ended by emphasizing the international nature of the event, “Moreover, thanks to the IAM project, Autopromotec 2022 will further boost the arrival of international buyers and decision-makers, also confirming the strategic importance of the event for international players”.

A Calendar Packed With Sector Relevant Topics

The IAM workshops will explore a range of topics of particular relevance and importance to the various automotive aftermarket supply chains. Massimo Brunamonti, IAM’s scientific coordinator, explained the aim of the round of meetings, “At this historic moment, as we are hoping to emerge from the pandemic and trade fair activities are resuming, keeping up to date becomes even more vital. And doing so at the highest level is crucial. This is only possible by listening to and engaging with the major players at international level.”

Brunamonti added, “Operators want to meet again, but they need a tangible reason to do so. With the IAM workshops, Autopromotec is providing this reason and offering a place for operators to address all and only those topics that are of real interest to the industry’s business”.

Titled “Access to Data and Free Competition,” the first IAM meeting focuses on access to technical information and on-board vehicle data and the issue of aftermarket competition. These two topics are of particular importance for the sector and are closely related to the areas of repairs, spare parts, diagnostics and the new IT security frontiers. The second IAM panel event – the Periodical Technical Inspections Conference – is dedicated to the world of inspections, in particular the new procedures linked to the latest technologies and the change in mobility. IAM’s third meeting, the Global Aftermarket Conference, is dedicated to the automotive aftermarket sector. With contributions from senior representatives from a selection of international associations in the sector, it will analyze the market from a broadened perspective, providing valuable insights into car repair trends, the evolution of the sector and future developments. In addition to these meetings, as part of IAM, three workshops will be held looking at components of the future, the new digital workshop and developments in the world of tires.

All IAM meetings at Autopromotec 2022, whose working language will be English, will be held in a specially designated location, an exclusive room at the BolognaFiere Exhibition Centre located on the mezzanine floor between Halls 21 and 22. To foster further networking opportunities, Autopromotec also has a dedicated lounge area in Hall 22 where speakers and association managers can meet.

Previews Directly From Key Players

As the event approaches, Autopromotec will reveal further details on the individual meeting topics and contributions from eminent speakers with an interactive series of video interviews with key IAM players. Advance information on the content of workshops will be published in regular video podcasts posted on social media channels and the Autopromotec Blog. The first in-depth video interview features Jordi Brunet Garcia, Secretary-General of EGEA who, in the coming days, will take an insightful look at the future of mobility and the challenges that the equipment sector, in particular, will face.
