IAC Opens New Tianjin, China, Manufacturing Location; Company Continues Expanding Regional Footprint

This is the 14th facility the company has opened in the past two years. This new plant increases IAC’s total number of worldwide locations to 104.

 

IAC - LogoInternational Automotive Components (IAC) says it is continuing its “aggressive global expansion” with the inauguration of a new manufacturing facility, Shanghai IAC-Songjiang Automotive Carpet and Acoustics Co. Ltd., located in Tianjin, China. This is the 14th facility the company has opened in the past two years. This new plant increases IAC’s total number of worldwide locations to 104.

The 5,200-square-meter (56,000-square-feet) facility will employ more than 180 people and will manufacture vehicle flooring and acoustics systems and headliners, for Mercedes-Benz vehicles, including the GLC, GLA, C-Class and E-Class models. The facility is scheduled to expand by another 4,300-square-meters next year.

“Our new Tianjin operation reflects our ongoing commitment to support our global customers with premium interior manufacturing capabilities in line with their global platform strategies,” said Robert “Steve” Miller, president and CEO of IAC Group. “I am excited to take part in this growth and look forward to continuing to support our customers wherever in the world they need us.

Tianjin is IAC’s 16th new location in China since 2006, bringing the total number of Asian locations to 30.
