Excelfore, an enabler of smart mobility networks, has opened a new customer solutions support office in Tokyo, Japan.
This new solutions center will strengthen Excelfore’s customer support capabilities in Japan, enabling fast, expert support to local carmakers and automotive suppliers. Japan is among the world’s largest automotive producing nations, with 9.7 million cars and commercial vehicles produced in 2017*.
Shrinath Acharya, CEO at Excelfore, said, “We have an experienced engineering team in Tokyo that has been doing advanced development in automotive networking since 2012. The objective of this newly established facility is to improve our capability to serve new and existing customers in this key automotive market. We see Japan as an important region for innovation in automotive technology, and by investing in expert local support we aim to further develop our presence and reputation as a strong player in smart mobility network solutions.”
Headquartered in Silicon Valley in California, Excelfore creates middleware solutions for in-vehicle and vehicle-to-cloud smart mobility networks. The Excelfore eSync system, for example, enables carmakers to deliver over-the-air software updates to vehicles and remotely retrieve valuable operating data from the various electronic devices in cars, for predictive maintenance, troubleshooting and overall improved vehicle health. This up-and-coming technology significantly mitigates expensive and inconvenient vehicle recalls, which are estimated to have cost carmakers $3 billion for software upgrades in the U.S. alone in 2016.
