Axalta Coating Systems has been certified as a “Premium Partner” by Mercedes-Benz Aftermarket in China.

Under the terms of the partnership designation, Axalta will provide its flagship Spies Hecker Permahyd Hi-TEC waterborne coating products to Mercedes-Benz in China to support its collision repair business. The company will provide color formulas to Mercedes-Benz dealer shops and repair facilities as new colors are introduced. Axalta also will provide training to technicians from Mercedes-Benz, its dealer shops and other repair facilities.

“We have been working with Mercedes-Benz locally and globally for many years,” said Luke Lu, vice president of Axalta and president of its business in China. “Becoming an aftermarket strategic partner is a recognition of Axalta’s sustainable and advanced product development, latest-generation technologies and excellent customer service.

That, in turn, enables our customers, such as Mercedes-Benz, to reduce their overall environmental footprint and achieve the levels of sustainability required to succeed in an increasingly competitive market,” Luke Lu added.

Axalta has operated in China since 1984, and has established a leadership position in the development of innovative, customer-focused coating products. In addition to the recently-opened Jiading waterborne coatings facility, Axalta operates an adjacent plant in Jiading, a plant in Changchun, six powder coating operations through its Axalta-Huajia joint venture, four refinish training centers, and a Global Color Lab. Axalta also hosts its Asia Pacific Innovation Center and its Asia Pacific Regional Headquarters in Shanghai.
