Robert Monczka, Ph.D. is professor emeritus, Michigan State University. He also is a former distinguished research professor of Supply Chain Management, W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University and director, strategic sourcing and supply chain strategy research, CAPS Research. He also held the position of Senior Research Fellow, Supply Chain Management Programs, Wayne State University.
Dr. Monczka is a globally recognized educator, researcher, speaker and consultant. He has researched and consulted with leading firms in the automotive, appliance, electronic, medical systems, automation and control systems and others. His experience includes purchasing/sourcing and supply chain strategy assessment and development; benchmarking of global best practices; organizational analysis; and developing and implementing strategic sourcing/supply chain management human resource development programs.
He also is the author of numerous books and articles focused on purchasing and supply chain management. He has published in journals such as Decision Sciences, Sloan Management Review, California Management Review and Journal of Supply Chain Management. He is co-author of a leading textbook, “Purchasing and Supply Chain Management,” 6th edition.
