Pirelli CEO Marco Tronchetti Provera Receives The Águila Azteca Order

Tronchetti was recognized for his commitment to strengthen economic relations between Mexico and Italy, for the actions implemented for economic development in Mexico.

Marco Tronchetti Provera, executive vice president and CEO of Pirelli, was awarded on Monday with the medal of the Mexican Order “Águila Azteca,” the highest honor that the government of Mexico grants to foreigners to recognize the services rendered to the country.

The distinction was presented on Monday during a ceremony at the Mexican Embassy in Rome, by the Ambassador of Mexico in Italy, Juan José Guerra Abud. Tronchetti was recognized for his commitment to strengthen economic relations between Mexico and Italy, for the actions implemented for economic development in Mexico. He also was honored for being a friend of the Mexican people by supporting social and cultural initiatives, in addition to the results achieved in the role played as co-chair of the Italy-Mexico Business Council from 2012 to 2016.

Pirelli has been present in Mexico since 2011 in Silao city in the region of Guanajuato, with a factory that employs close to 2,300 people and produces tires both for the local market and more than 40 countries around the world, principally those in NAFTA.
