The United States International Trade Commission (ITC) has voted to conduct further investigations into truck and bus tires imported from China. In a 4:2 vote the commission determined that there “is a reasonable indication that a U.S. industry is materially injured or threatened with material injury by reason of imports of truck and bus tires from China that are allegedly subsidized and sold in the United States at less than fair value.”

As a result of this determination, the Department of Commerce will continue to conduct its investigations on these imports with its preliminary countervailing duty determination due on or about April 25, and its preliminary anti-dumping duty determinations due on or about July 7.

The ITC will publish its public report “Truck and Bus Tires from China” on April 11. It will be available to view on the commission’s website.
