The Ultimate NASCAR Performance Make-Over Sweepstakes Returns

One lucky fan to win vehicle makeover courtesy of NASCAR Performance automotive partners.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – As NASCAR enters its stretch run to crown the 2009 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Champion, NASCAR Performance and its team of exclusive automotive partners are launching a second-straight effort to reward one lucky fan with its Ultimate NASCAR Performance Make-Over Sweepstakes.

From Aug. 21 through Oct. 25, 2009, NASCAR fans are invited to enter the sweepstakes at www.NASCAR.COM/makeover. The Grand Prize winner will receive a vehicle makeover courtesy of Goodyear Gemini using quality parts provided by NASCAR Performance automotive partners. The vehicle makeover, valued at $10,000, can include paint and body work, new wheels and tires, new upholstery, new brakes, new filters as well as engine and other parts. The winner will also receive apparel and accessories of their favorite driver and a VIP trip for two to the season-ending Ford Championship Weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway in Homestead, Fla.

In addition to the Grand Prize winner, there will also be three first place runner-up winners who will receive a full set of Goodyear Tires and American Racing Wheels. Twenty-five second place runner-up entries will win a NASCAR Performance prize pack which includes a collection of products from NASCAR Performance automotive partners.

Fans who visit www.NASCAR.COM/makeover will also have the opportunity to play the NASCAR Performance Challenge where they’ll race against the clock to make over a vehicle using sponsor products and services. Fans can also save on NASCAR Performance partner products by downloading coupons and rebate offers and entering other partner sweepstakes and promotions. “Because of today’s tough economic climate, it’s more important than ever to keep your vehicle well-maintained and running as long as you can,” said Odis Lloyd managing director of the NASCAR Automotive Group. “With this sweepstakes, NASCAR Performance partners are demonstrating how proper car care can ensure reliable performance, and also educating consumers on the necessary steps to sustain and extend the life of their vehicles, which saves everyone money.”

Last year’s Ultimate Make-Over Sweepstakes was one of the most successful online promotions in NASCAR.COM’s history, generating more than 150,000 entries in just eight weeks and providing thousands of visitors with helpful automotive maintenance tips from NASCAR Performance partners. Avid NASCAR fan Shirley Campbell of Kent, N.Y., was the lucky winner of the sweepstakes. Campbell’s 1987 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am underwent a complete mechanical makeover courtesy of top technicians at Dan’s Tire & Auto Service Center – a Goodyear Gemini repair shop in Campbell’s hometown – as well as a paint/body overhaul by Eddy’s Collision.

This year, Goodyear Gemini dealers across the country will promote their affiliation with the sweepstakes at their 2,200 locations across the U.S. via in-store signage. Other NASCAR Performance partners, such as 3M and WIX Filters, will have special offers for consumers through the entry website. Still others, including Edelbrock and Autolite, will help drive traffic to the site by posting banner ads on their web sites.

NASCAR Performance partners are chosen as leaders in their respective categories and the program is designed to connect fans with the automotive products and services that share the power, precision and performance that is NASCAR.
