Speedway Motors Named NSRA Manufacturer of the Year

Speedway Motors has been a member of NSRA for more than 50 years.

Speedway Motors was named National Street Rod Association (NSRA) Manufacturer of the Year at the 52nd Annual Street Rod Nationals held in Louisville, Ky. Aug. 5-8.

Founded in 1970, the NSRA is the foremost street rodding organization in the country and provides leadership, guidance, and fun events for enthusiasts across the country. The Manufacturer of the Year Award honors one organization in the industry annually for outstanding contributions to the advancement of the street rodding sport.

Founded in 1952 by “Speedy” Bill and Joyce Smith, Speedway Motors is known as America’s Oldest Speed Shop. Started as a local speed shop, in Lincoln, Neb., today, they offer more than 250,000 products for race, street, muscle and rod. With retail stores in Lincoln, Neb., Tolleson, Ariz. and three distribution centers, they provide reliably fast delivery of performance parts to customers across the country.

“We are honored to receive the Manufacturer of the Year Award from NSRA,” said Clay Smith, president and owner of Speedway Motors. “My father ‘Speedy’ Bill was involved with NSRA from the very beginning, my brothers and our team have attended every Street Rod Nationals event and we are proud to continue that relationship for years to come.” 

Speedway Motors joins previous award recipients including Comp Cams, Classic Instruments, Watson’s Street Works, O’Brien Truckers, Advanced Plating, Alumicraft among others.
