STAUNTON, Va. Slack Auto Parts, located in Gainesville, Ga., has become a member of Federated Auto Parts. The announcement was made jointly by Henry Slack, the third-generation owner of Slack Auto Parts, and Rusty Bishop, CEO of Federated Auto Parts.
“We are very pleased to join the Federated family,” said Slack. “For more than 80 years, Slack Auto Parts has built a solid reputation for providing superior customer service, having the best people in the business and giving back to the communities in which we operate. These are the same qualities that have made Federated the premier distribution group in the automotive aftermarket. We are looking forward to a long and prosperous relationship with Federated.”
The Slack Auto Parts Co. was founded in 1928 in Gainesville by William H. Slack Jr. Under his leadership, the company expanded into other markets in northeast Georgia. Bill Slack Jr. retired in 1970 and his son, William H. Slack III, succeeded him, running the company until 2004 when his son, William H. (Henry) Slack IV succeeded him. Currently, Slack Auto Parts has one warehouse, eight auto parts stores, a full-service machine shop and a heavy duty truck parts store with plans to conservatively grow in the future.
“We are thrilled to have Slack Auto Parts join the Federated team,” said Bishop. “They have truly established themselves as the ‘hometown parts stores’ in Northeast Georgia. We plan to work with the Slack family and their employees to carry on the long-standing tradition of excellence they have established through 80 years of hard work and dedication to their customers.”
