Kent Stickley Named Vice President of Marketing for Brake Parts Inc.

Brake Parts Inc. has named aftermarket veteran Kent Stickley as its new vice president of marketing. This announcement was made today by John Washbish, vice president Under Vehicle Group of Dana’s Automotive Aftermarket operation. Stickley, who has more than 25 years of automotive aftermarket experience, comes to Brake Parts Inc. from Prolong International where he has worked since 2002 as vice president of sales and director of sales for the Eastern region.

Snap-on Updates Third Quarter, Full Year Results

Snap-on has provided updated information concerning results it expects for third-quarter and full-year 2004. Net earnings for the third quarter of 2004 are expected to be in the range of 37 to 40 cents per diluted share, which compares with 30 cents per diluted share for the third quarter of 2003. Earnings for the 2004 third quarter are expected to include approximately 5 cents per share of continuous improvement costs compared to 16 cents per share in last year’s third quarter.

ArvinMeritor and Raydan Manufacturing Enter into Licensing Agreement for Vocational Suspensions

ArvinMeritor Commercial Vehicle Systems (CVS) business group has signed a licensing agreement with Raydan Manufacturing Inc. for the patented Air Link rear tandem suspension product line. Raydan Manufacturing is a producer of specialized suspension and coupling systems for trucks and heavy equipment. The company is based in Alberta, Canada.

ArvinMeritor Files Lawsuit over Transmission Patent Infringement by Eaton Corp.

ArvinMeritor has filed a lawsuit in Charlotte, N.C., Federal Court against Cleveland, Ohio-based Eaton Corp. for infringement over a transmission patent. The patent covers an ArvinMeritor transmission automation technology, which was developed for the ArvinMeritor ESS transmission, a model that has been superceded by higher technology. ArvinMeritor seeks an injunction to stop the sale of Eaton Transmission models UltraShift and AutoShift, which use this technology, as well as for damages for past infringement.
