Reman professionals will converge on the Netherlands later this month for Rematec 2023.
“This is the ideal place to discover the latest trends and business models, share best practices and look to the future: what will remanufacturing look like in the next decade?” event organizers said in a news release.
The Rematec content program will provide the heartbeat of Rematec 2023, offering visitors free access to some provocative presentations and timely discussions, presentations and demonstrations.
Rematec Theatre
The Rematec Theatre is a focal point for the Rematec 2023 experience, featuring an open audience seating area where live presentations take place. All visitors are welcome, and this is the stage where reman-industry specialists share their technical knowledge and expert views on market developments in interactive workshops.
It is here, too, that thought leaders and industry experts will gather to unpack trends in the political, business and economic landscape and consider what they mean for the remanufacturing industry. The cross-sectoral discussions here will be some of the most revealing sessions of Rematec 2023, looking in particular at common goals and challenges.
Official Opening Ceremony
On Tuesday, June 27, at 10 a.m. local time, Rematec will officially be opened by Dr. Daniel Köhler, chairman APRA Europe, and Nynke Lipsius, group director mobility RAI Amsterdam. They will discuss the importance of sharing knowledge and expertise on enhancing product lifecycles.
This will be followed by a reflection on how to achieve the sustainable goals with remanufacturing, joined by José Almeida, market affairs manager at CLEPA, and Peter Bartel, vice chairman of APRA. The sessions are followed by the announcement of the Remanufacturer of the Year Awards.
Circular Economy as the Central Pillar for Remanufacturing
On Tuesday, June 27, from 3:15 to 3:45 p.m., Markus Lehner, head of project management at Encory GmbH; Prof. Dr. Johannes Meuer, associate professor for sustainability strategy and operations and director of KLU’s Center for Sustainable Logistics and Supply Chains at KLU; and Paula Petersen, founding member at Circularity e.V, will discuss shared reverse supply chain in automotive sector. They will share their insights into the circular economy as a goal, and developing a reverse supply chain alliance for automotive parts.
Circular supply chains and reverse logistics systems in the remanufacturing industry have a key role in advancing the principles of the circular economy. Specifically in car remanufacturing, optimizing the collection, transportation and processing of end-of-life car parts can enhance resource efficiency, reduce waste and retain value. This session will highlight the importance of a circular supply chain, and the logistics system and will be discussed with representatives from GIZ, Encory GmbH and Circular Economy Solutions GmbH (Wednesday, June 28, from 11 a.m. to noon).
