LEBANON, Tenn. The June 5 NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Nashville Superspeedway will directly benefit flood relief efforts happening in and around Nashville through a partnership between renowned Warner Bros. recording artist John Rich, Nashville Superspeedway, Nationwide Insurance, Big Machine Records, Gibson Guitar and Hands On Nashville.
A portion of the proceeds from tickets sold for the June 5 “Federated Auto Parts 300” event will benefit Hands On Nashville, a volunteer agency assisting those affected most by the recent floods in Nashville. Nashville Superspeedway will also collect canned goods to support the Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee. Fans can drop their canned food items in collection bins located at the outside of the entrance gates to the main grandstands.
Sam Bass, NASCAR’s first officially licensed artist and designer of the famed Gibson Les Paul trophy guitar handed out in Victory Lane at Nashville, has designed a special-edition guitar that will be autographed by Bass, John Rich and the winner of the “Federated Auto Parts 300” in Victory Lane at the conclusion of the race. The guitar will be auctioned on eBay with all proceeds benefiting Hands On Nashville. Auction information will be available on race weekend on NashvilleSuperspeedway.com.
Nationwide Insurance was one of the first members of the NASCAR community to step up to provide assistance to flood victims in Tennessee by providing a $100,000 Nationwide Insurance Foundation grant to the American Red Cross for disaster relief efforts. As the sponsor of the NASCAR Nationwide Series, Nationwide Insurance will continue its support for the Nashville community by providing additional funding for the John Rich concert and the American Red Cross. Nationwide Insurance will also sponsor a car wash event at Miles Auto Spa, where they will donate $5 to American Red Cross disaster relief for every car washed June 1-5 for an additional donation up to $25,000. The car wash will take place at 100 Market Exchange Court in Franklin.
A Saturday, June 5 race ticket includes admission to the NASCAR Nationwide Series qualifying race at 3:05 p.m., the one-hour John Rich concert at 5 p.m., a reserved seat for the “Federated Auto Parts 300” at 7 p.m., and a post-race concert with Republic Nashville group Fast Ryde.
