Power Heavy Duty Welcomes Childers Auto and Truck Parts

Membership in Power Heavy Duty will help Childers focus on growth and expansion.

Power Heavy Duty announced Pikeville, KY-based distributor Childers Auto and Truck Parts has joined its network.

Founded less than a year ago, Childers Auto and Truck Parts is a subsidiary of Ken’s Towing & Service, which has been helping those in, around and passing through Pikeville get out of tight jams and back on the road for more than 25 years. They’ve rescued vehicles – including many heavy-duty trucks – stuck in snow drifts, flipped into creeks and dangling dangerously close to a steep descent down an Appalachian mountainside, Power Heavy Duty said.

Childers Auto and Truck Parts is moving next month into a new 20,000-square-foot facility on eight acres. Its new warehouse will include five service bays and additional space for its flywheel resurfacing and hydraulic hose fabrication operations. The investment “will allow for continued growth and strengthen the ability to meet the full range of customer requirements,” said Ken Childers, president.

“Childers Auto and Truck Parts is really a jack of all trades, and they make a great addition to the Power Heavy Duty network,” said Jim Pennig, vice president of business development for the VIPAR Heavy Duty Family of Companies. “Not only are they well positioned for growth, but they’re equipped to fulfill the parts and service needs across nearly every segment – everything from long haul to construction, and from school bus to waste management – they serve a very diverse marketplace.”
