HOUSTON, TX — Pennzoil presented the Platinum Prize to auto and truck enthusiasts around the country as part of its Platinum Garage Tour that traveled to auto events around the country. This award recognized enthusiasts who made the ultimate commitment to protect their most prized investment — their custom or classic vehicles.
The Platinum Prize was awarded to men and women at each of the 18 nationwide events that were attended by more than 300,000 auto and truck enthusiasts. The Platinum Prize was also presented at two Indy Racing League races that featured the Pennzoil Platinum Indy car.
“If you’re a true enthusiast, your car or truck is worth its weight in platinum,” said Jeffrey Lack, director of marketing for Pennzoil. “The Platinum Prize honors enthusiasts who have really made a commitment to protect their cars or trucks and to participate in the preservation of custom and classic vehicles.”
Working with show organizers and local car clubs, Pennzoil selected a prize winner to be honored at each event. The winners received an award plaque and a lifetime supply of the new full synthetic Pennzoil Platinum motor oil. They were also inducted into the Platinum Hall of Fame, located at Pennzoil.com.
“We had the opportunity to meet some men and women who are truly dedicated to preserving and protecting their vehicles and helping others do the same,” said Lack. “Pennzoil is honored to highlight the Platinum Prize winners in the Platinum Hall of Fame.”
The winner’s car or truck was the featured attraction at the Platinum Garage during the show. The Platinum Garage, which traveled to auto events nationwide, included an interactive display trailer with synthetic oil displays, video and a cut-away engine display.
