BETHESDA, MD — The Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA) announced that PARTnerShip Network software will now be supported by GCommerce. PARTnerShip Network is a peer-to-peer software solution, developed by a group of aftermarket companies and administered exclusively by AAIA. It enables business partners to conduct secure and reliable e-commerce communications over the Internet without any value added network (VAN) or kilo-character charges. GCommerce is a provider of supply chain connectivity solutions for goods and services industries.
The change in support comes at a crucial time, according to AAIA, as PARTnerShip Network adoption increases with implementations throughout the aftermarket by CARQUEST, O’Reilly Auto Parts, Advance Auto Parts and CSK, as well as system provider Activant Solutions.
“As PARTnerShip Network gains momentum, we are pleased to have GCommerce in the technical support role because they have first-hand experience with the software and work with PARTnerShip Network on a daily basis,” said Scott Luckett, AAIA vice president, technology standards and solutions.
In addition to supporting PARTnerShip Network customers, GCommerce offers a PARTnet solution which enables suppliers who don’t have the IT staff necessary to install and maintain PARTnerShip Network, to comply with major retailer’s data exchange requirements. This makes it possible for small and medium-sized suppliers to participate in the e-commerce initiatives of the major automotive chains in an economical manner.
“The greatest benefits of PARTnerShip Network technology will be realized when trading partners of all sizes can participate regardless of their EDI or IT sophistication,” Luckett said.
