Demko and Costello Join Valvoline Marketing

Peter Demko and Steven Costello have joined Valvoline, a division of Ashland Inc., in key brand management roles, according to Walter Solomon, senior vice president and general manager, retail business.

Valvoline Names New Marketing Director for Lubricant, Chemical Brands

Bryan Emrich has been named marketing director for the Valvoline lubricant and chemical brands. Valvoline is a division of Ashland Inc. Emrich comes to Valvoline with extensive brand management experience. From 1998 to 2003 he managed several hair care brands at Procter & Gamble including Physique, Head & Shoulders and Pert Plus. He most recently served as senior brand manager for Heinz North America, managing the Classico, Aunt Millie’s and Prince Pasta Sauce brands. Between 1991 and 1996, Emrich held marketing and communications positions with Northern Trust Company and Bank of America.

Valvoline Named Vendor of the Year by Monro Muffler Brake

Valvoline has been named ‘Vendor of the Year’ by Monro Muffler Brake for the second consecutive year. Valvoline is the lubricants, filter and service chemical supplier to the Rochester, NY-based chain.

Valvoline Announces Management Changes

Valvoline, a division of Ashland Inc., recently announced several changes in management, including the promotion of Mitchell Skaggs and Robert Craycraft to new positions on Valvoline’s senior management team. Scott Vogel, a consumer marketing executive, has joined the division as president of Valvoline Instant Oil Change (VIOC), Valvoline’s quick-lube business unit. In a related move, John Wesley, former president of VIOC, was named senior vice president and general manager for Valvoline’s DIFM (do-it-for-me) Distributor Group business unit.

Hayes Lemmerz Announces Changes in Senior Management Team

James Stegemiller, vice president of Hayes Lemmerz International and president of the company’s North American Wheel Group, has announced he will retire effective Nov. 1.

Monro Names Valvoline Vendor of the Year

Valvoline has been named Vendor of the Year by the Monro Muffler Brake automotive service chain. Monro owns 600 stores in more than 18 states, operating under the Monro Muffler Brake and Service, Speedy Auto Service by Monro, Kimmel Tires-Auto Service, Tread Quarters Discount Tires and Mr. Tire brands. Valvoline has been principal lubricants and filter supplier to the Rochester, N.Y.-based chain since late 2002.
