Scrivens was president and CEO of Central Auto Parts Distributors until 1996 when his son Darrell Scrivens assumed the role.

Raff was very active in the Automotive Warehouse Distributors Association. He served on the board for several terms, including serving as chairman of the board. He also served for many years on the board and as chairman of the University of the Aftermarket, donating and raising large amounts of money for scholarships in the aftermarket industry. He was currently chairman emeritus.

In June, he traveled to Wildwood, New Jersey, with Steve Tucker, the Network’s vice president of marketing, to compete in his first-ever Race of Gentlemen, the infamous beach racing event, where he won a first-round matchup despite what he called “wonderfully challenging conditions.”
