Federal-Mogul has launched a new national television advertising campaign featuring its Wagner ThermoQuiet brake pad. The consumer-oriented commercial focuses on a common concern among vehicle owners: annoying brake squeal. The company said the commercial was created to convey the message that the “breakthrough technology of Wagner ThermoQuiet brake pads provides strong stopping power and virtually eliminates brake noise.”

Federal-Mogul Receives Four Supplier Awards From Sears

Federal-Mogul recently received four supplier awards from Sears, Roebuck and Co. for 2004. They include Supplier of the Year in the automotive segment and a Partner in Progress award. Federal-Mogul also received Supplier of the Year for Quality in both the automotive segment and the larger hardlines segment for its Wagner ThermoQuiet brake pads and shoes.

Federal-Mogul to Give Away Classic Chevrolet El Camino SS Through 2005 Training Promo

The Federal-Mogul Technical Education Center (TEC) will give away a 1966 Chevrolet El Camino SS with a “numbers-matching” engine and rare package of factory options to an engine rebuilder, professional technician or parts counterperson through its 2005 Federal-Mogul Training Excellence Sweepstakes. Any qualified aftermarket professional may enter the sweepstakes by enrolling in a 2005 TEC training workshop or field clinic, or by contacting TEC for course information. There is no entry fee or enrollment requirement. The Training Excellence Sweepstakes drawing will be held in mid-December 2005.

Akebono announced yesterday that Eastern Regional Sales Manager Carl Schaefer unexpectedly passed away in January. Schaefer was a 25-year veteran of the automotive aftermarket business, with a focus on brake systems. He joined Akebono in 2002 and managed the company’s aftermarket sales in the eastern U.S. and Canada.
