SOUTHFIELD, MI — The Federal-Mogul Technical Education Center (TEC) will give away a 1966 Chevrolet El Camino SS with a “numbers-matching” engine and rare package of factory options to an engine rebuilder, professional technician or parts counterperson through its 2005 Federal-Mogul Training Excellence Sweepstakes.
Any qualified aftermarket professional may enter the sweepstakes by enrolling in a 2005 TEC training workshop or field clinic, or by contacting TEC for course information. There is no entry fee or enrollment requirement. The Training Excellence Sweepstakes drawing will be held in mid-December 2005.
Federal-Mogul TEC, based in St. Louis, Mo., operates one of the automotive service industry’s most popular professional education programs, with on-site and field training workshops covering engine, steering and suspension, driveline, brake, fuel system, ignition and automotive electronics. The program has received the prestigious Continuing Automotive Service Education (CASE) accreditation from ASE. Each TEC course is taught by ASE-certified Master technicians.
Federal-Mogul and professionals who attend TEC workshops in St. Louis in 2005. The latest automotive technologies from the company’s Sealed Power (engine), Fel-Pro (gasket), Moog (steering and suspension), Precision (driveline), National (wheel bearings and seals), Carter (fuel delivery), Champion (spark plug), Power Path (ignition), ANCO (wiper blades) and Wagner (brakes and lighting) brands will be included in the planned enhancements.
“This gorgeous vehicle is a powerful incentive for aftermarket professionals who want to enhance their skills and career opportunities through world-class training. In a lot of ways, the finished car will be very much like the professionals who attend our courses – great when it got here but better than ever when it has completed its visit to our St. Louis facility,” said Bruce Maize, director, technical service and customer support for Federal-Mogul.
The street-ready El Camino SS features Chevrolet’s popular and powerful 1966 big-block 396-cubic-inch engine, automatic transmission and fully restored body and interior. The vehicle also includes an impressive array of factory options, including air conditioning, power windows, tilt wheel, power steering and power brakes.
