POMONA, CA — The Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum has unveiled details of an exclusive program that will give automotive aftermarket leaders and racing greats the opportunity to preserve and celebrate a history they helped make, through a new sponsorhip program called the Winner’s Circle.
There are four levels of support for the Winner’s Circle, each involving a three-year commitment. “Champions” commit to an investment of $10,000 or more annually, “Sustaining” members $5,000 annually, “Supporting” members to $2,500 annually while “Patrons” contribute a $1,000 each year. Each level comes with unique benefits.
Winner’s Circle funds will be used to fund Museum acquisitions, including vehicles and artifacts; enhance and expand programs and exhibitions; develop an archive research library and educational programs; and improve the Museum complex.
According to Sam Jackson, executive director of the Parks Museum, the new Winner’s Circle program represents both an honor and a commitment for corporations in the automotive performance business.
In introducing the Winner’s Circle program, Jackson said, “The story of American automotive performance begins with hot rodding, drag racing and the growth of the performance industry. Without the insight, passion and investment of these companies and individuals, the history would be dramatically different. That’s why we’re inviting these folks to participate in the Museum in this special way.”
NHRA founder and Museum chairman Wally Parks added, “None of us could have predicted where our love of cars and motorsports would take us. From a humble hobby that used castoff cars and backyard engineering, many successful companies have been established, along with a history that is followed around the world.
“For years my dream has been to preserve and interpret this wonderful story. This Museum and its programs are the culmination of that dream. Commitments from companies and individuals who join the Winner’s Circle will help insure that the amazing story of American automotive performance will be appreciated for generations to come.”
With its current exhibit, Edelbrock: A Performance Legacy, the fourth in an on-going series, the Parks Museum continues its active “living museum” strategy. In addition to the revolving exhibits and special in-museum programs, the Parks Museum also produces two “road” events, the National Hot Rod Reunion every June in Bowling Green, Kentucky and the California Hot Rod Reunion every October in Bakersfield, Calif.
