CHARLOTTE, NC — NASCAR and MagicDust Television have announced a partnership with Litton Entertainment to distribute a syndicated original programming series titled, “NASCAR Angels.” The agreement was announced by NASCAR Vice President of Licensing and Consumer Products Mark Dyer along with Bill Miller of MagicDust Television and David Morgan, president and CEO, Litton Entertainment.
“NASCAR Angels” is a new television show in development for Fall 2006 from NASCAR’s Automotive Licensing team. Created to drive consumer education about the need for regular vehicle maintenance, “NASCAR Angels” will showcase every aspect of the aftermarket chain: service, technicians and the parts that make the cars go. The show will offer opportunities for sponsorship and product integration.
NASCAR first announced the show concept at the 2005 Town Hall meeting at AAPEX.
NASCAR and its exclusive distributor, Litton Entertainment, debuted the weekly half-hour program at last week’s gathering of television programming executives in Las Vegas. In its first day on the market, stations in five of the nation’s ten largest markets agreed to carry the show, including ABC-owned stations in New York, Los Angeles and Chicago as well as WSB-ABC in Atlanta, one of the nation’s highest rated stations. The series will shoot 22 original episodes on location in major NASCAR race markets.
“NASCAR Angels,” featuring NASCAR Performance Consumer Crew Chief Mark Salem, a car care advocate for NASCAR, will hit the road each week with a simple mission: to help families and communities with their transportation needs. Whether it’s getting to work, to a doctor’s appointment or fire trucks responding to an emergency, many families and communities rely on their vehicles to get them where they need to go and to help save lives. Each week a different NASCAR driver, along with host Mark Salem and his angels, will help make dreams come true. From fixing up a family’s old car or a school in need of bus repair, “NASCAR Angels” is there to help make life a little easier.
The show will feature top NASCAR drivers and crew chiefs giving deserving families the chance to go behind-the-scenes to meet their heroes and get an up-close-and-personal glimpse into the NASCAR experience.
With the help of professionals from neighborhood garages and the products of NASCAR Performance partners, “NASCAR Angels” work under a deadline to complete each mission as technicians race to put cars back into tip-top condition under Salem’s watchful eye. Salem is a master technician who currently helps people with car repair questions on NASCAR television and radio programs as well as on NASCAR.com .
