More Sponsors Mean More Growth for DHRA

How can you tell what is the most exciting and fastest growing spectator sport? Just listen for loud rumbles, earthmoving vibrations and a cloud of exhaust. REDKEY, IN — How can you tell what is the most exciting and fastest growing spectator sport? Just listen for loud rumbles, earthmoving vibrations and a cloud of exhaust. Diesel racing is unlike any other sport and has exploded onto the scene turning heads and raising eyebrows. Luckily for the sport and its fans, sponsors are scrambling to get in on the action.

To celebrate this exponentially growing sport, the Diesel Hot Rod Association (DHRA) is producing a series of racing events; smaller regional events, as well as larger national events in both Indiana and Texas. Next year, DHRA is adding Las Vegas to the circuit. Recognizing its incredible popularity, sponsors are doing everything they can to participate and support diesel racing.

For some, it means event sponsorship, such as new sponsor AirWerks by Borg Warner Turbo Systems, now sponsoring the Pro Diesel Shootout. For others, only the big picture will do, which is why Valvoline Premium Blue is the official oil for DHRA and Zoom Performance has signed on as the official clutch.

For the second year in a row, DieselPower! Fuel Additives (Gold Eagle Inc.) has decided to continue their title sponsorships of both the Drag Racing Series and Sled Pulling Series, along with their support for the Pro Diesel Series. Their support in 2005 allowed DHRA to offer the largest series purse in the diesel motorsports industry. Choice Hotel is also returning for its second year, reclaiming its title as the DHRA official hotel sponsor.

“It’s overwhelming to see how supportive the sponsors are, not just with DHRA and its events but with the entire diesel racing world. To see so many companies, both new and returning vendors, rally behind the racers and the fans shows not only how much this industry has grown, but is a clear prediction that diesel racing will soon be everywhere,” states Eric McBride, DHRA CEO.

With so many sponsors participating, it’s no secret that this year’s Diesel Races will be bigger and better than before. To find out more about Diesel Racing and DHRA, or to get in on the action, visit: dhraonline.com. For more information about this year’s events, please call: 765-768-6400.
