HOMESTEAD, FL — Indy Racing League and K&N Engineering have announced a partnership that makes the Riverside, Calif.-based company the “Official Air Filter Used by the IRL IndyCar Series.”

K&N will also partner with the Indianapolis Motor Speedway serving as the Official Performance Filter of the Indianapolis 500-Mile Race and offering a $10,000 performance-based prize award for the Indianapolis 500 (details to be announced at a later date). The agreement is a multi-faceted marketing partnership and includes television, radio, print and Internet advertising.

All IndyCar Series teams use the same K&N Air Filter – a filter shape designed specifically and exclusively for the IndyCar Series using the same technology found in K&N’s filtration products for street vehicles. To maintain consistency, all K&N IndyCar Series Air Filters are tested by K&N on an airflow bench before being shipped to the respective engine builders.

K&N will also have additional presence on-site with K&N’s event support tractor-trailer attending events on the schedule. K&N attends more than 100 events annually with their events support program, and is heavily involved in nearly every form of motorsports from off-road and powersports to drag racing, stock cars and road racing.
