HOUSTON — As part of an initiative to optimize the Jiffy Lube brand and strengthen its position in the fast lube industry, Jiffy Lube International has sold 68 company-owned service centers in the greater Houston, Dallas-Fort Worth and San Antonio markets to franchise group Allied Lube, Inc.
“Jiffy Lube pioneered the fast and convenient oil change and, over the past quarter-century, has set the industry standard for preventive maintenance service,” said Jiffy Lube International President Larry Burch. “Allied Lube has played a tremendous role in the success of the Jiffy Lube brand and will continue to help drive it into the future.”
“Allied Lube has always relied upon the strength of its commitment to its customers, its employees and the Jiffy Lube brand to deliver superior services and grow successfully,” said Allied Lube President Richard Paek. “We are poised to continue building on this success and strongly believe that the opportunity to grow the Jiffy Lube brand in Houston, Dallas-Fort Worth and San Antonio markets is a key cornerstone for our future growth.”
With the acquisition of these stores, the Allied Lube group becomes the third-largest franchisee in the Jiffy Lube system with 105 Jiffy Lube service centers in California, Colorado and Texas. At the annual Jiffy Lube International Franchisee Convention earlier this year, Allied Lube was recognized for its outstanding facilities in the Western Division. Jiffy Lube International is working closely with Allied Lube to ensure a smooth transition of ownership.
Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
