Grote Releases Second Volume of “Know How” Training Guides

Grote Industries, a leading manufacturer of vehicle safety systems, has introduced the second volume in its "Know How" series of programmed instruction training guides. Grote Know How II is a 104-page illustrated guide to installation and troubleshooting of lighting and wiring on heavy-duty tractors, trucks and trailers.

MADISON, IN — Grote Industries, a leading manufacturer of vehicle safety systems, has introduced the second volume in its “Know How” series of programmed instruction training guides. Grote Know How II is a 104-page illustrated guide to installation and troubleshooting of lighting and wiring on heavy-duty tractors, trucks and trailers.

The two book set was developed for both the distributor sales and fleet maintenance functions, according to Grote. It is designed to give a hands-on view of the basics of vehicle electrical systems, as well as the special maintenance requirements for vehicle safety and lighting systems on medium and heavy-duty vehicles.

According to Grote Sales and Marketing Director John Grote, the company is responding to a growing need for training in the basics of selection, installation and troubleshooting for vehicle safety and lighting systems. “Today’s systems and the regulatory environment around them require a completely new approach to teaching,” he said.

While volume one in the series concentrates on the basics of electricity and proper specification, volume two looks at everyday problems with truck electrical systems and includes sections on proper tools and equipment, understanding wiring and routing, troubleshooting lighting and circuit problems, battery system maintenance and more.

The workbook is based on programmed instruction techniques originally developed for the computer and defense industries. According to Grote, this particular teaching style can increase a reader’s information retention by an average of 80 percent.
