Dana and Cypress Group Amend Agreement for Sale of Dana AAG

Dana Corp. announced yesterday it has amended the agreement to sell Dana’s automotive aftermarket businesses to Affinia Group Inc., an affiliate of The Cypress Group. Among other things, the amendment revises the purchase price to approximately $1 billion, comprised of $950 million in cash and a seller’s note with a $74.5 million face amount.

Be Car Care Aware Declared New On-Going Program For IAPA and ASP

Independent Auto Parts of America (IAPA) has joined the Be Car Care Aware (BCCA) consumer education campaign and will integrate it with IAPA’s ongoing programming. According to Mike Kamal, IAPA executive director, the group also will embrace National Car Care Month (NCCM) as Automotive Service Professional (ASP) member shops and IAPA retail stores host NCCM car check-ups and related activities in April.

BorgWarner Takes Over Supplier Beru

U.S. automotive company BorgWarner said Monday it is buying a controlling stake in German supplier Beru AG and would make an offer for the remaining shares in a nearly $800 million deal that it hopes will strengthen its position with global automakers.

Final Agreement Between Uni-Select and MAWDI; Jim Buzzard Named Executive Vice President

Uni-Select announced yesterday that, through its subsidiary Uni-Select USA, Inc, it has completed its purchase of all of the stock of Middle Atlantic Warehouse Distributor, Inc. (MAWDI). MAWDI is a warehouse distributor that operates 31 distribution centers and 145 corporate stores in 18 states serving more than 1,500 independent automotive jobbers, in addition to its corporate stores, on the East Coast, Midwest and Southwest regions of the U.S.
