Be Car Care Aware Declared New On-Going Program For IAPA and ASP

Independent Auto Parts of America (IAPA) has joined the Be Car Care Aware (BCCA) consumer education campaign and will integrate it with IAPA’s ongoing programming. According to Mike Kamal, IAPA executive director, the group also will embrace National Car Care Month (NCCM) as Automotive Service Professional (ASP) member shops and IAPA retail stores host NCCM car check-ups and related activities in April.

CARTERSVILLE, GA — Independent Auto Parts of America (IAPA) has joined the Be Car Care Aware (BCCA) consumer education campaign and will integrate it with IAPA’s ongoing programming. According to Mike Kamal, IAPA executive director, the group also will embrace National Car Care Month (NCCM) as Automotive Service Professional (ASP) member shops and IAPA retail stores host NCCM car check-ups and related activities in April.

“Using the excellent materials on the BCCA Web site, we’re developing a customized ASP Be Car Care Aware program package for 2005. It’s a natural for our ASP service centers and retail stores,” said Kamal. “These businesses will have banners, posters and educational brochures in their shops and stores to keep car care on the minds of consumers throughout the year.

The group has gotten a head start on National Car Care Month, ensuring plenty of time, effort and resources. Kamal considers it an “unparalleled opportunity for motorists to learn more about scheduled automotive maintenance and repair.”

IAPA will dedicate 50 of its top account representatives to NCCM activities. The group will create ASP National Car Care Month kits to help organize in-shop and in-store events with their top service dealers and retail stores across the county.

“IAPA is perhaps one of the most cost-effective ways for the Be Car Care Aware campaign to reach the consumer,” said Kamal. “We’re set up to print our own promotional materials using the BCCA campaign guides, scripts, releases and artwork. This takes the financial strain of fulfillment off the campaign. We look forward to financially supporting this effort on an annual basis, helping spread the Be Car Care Aware message and capturing part of 60 billion dollars in unperformed service and maintenance.”
