ANAHEIM, CA — The California International Auto Show (CIAS) announced the addition of its new “Auto Show Underground” that takes place from October 5th – 9th. The addition to the CIAS will give visitors a first-hand look at products from the highly popular automotive accessories industry, custom vehicles and culture that surround them.
The Auto Show Underground will offer something for everyone, from hardcore fans of sport compacts, exotics and muscle cars to shoppers looking to add a few custom accessories to their vehicles. Merging the California automotive scene with club-style entertainment, the Auto Show Underground will host a wide array of demonstrations, including the best modified vehicles from attending manufacturers, celebrity-owned vehicles, local clubs, one of the nation’s largest exotic car displays and the latest accessories. In addition, the area will feature music from local bands and disc jockeys as well as plenty of special appearances.
According to John Sackrison, CIAS co-director, the show’s visitors have long requested an area where they can browse and purchase products and accessories for all types of vehicles.
“Show surveys indicate that 53 percent of CIAS attendees say they are interested in adding accessories to their vehicles, such as specialty wheels, mobile electronics and body kits,” said Sackrison. “Reports from SEMA, the Specialty Equipment Market Association, indicate that the $31 billion automotive accessories industry is continuing to attract new customers and fans, many of whom will be at this year’s show.”
Those that are interested in participating in the Auto Show Underground should contact Lisa Gelb, Motor Trend Auto Shows, at (323) 782-2623.
The show is presented by the Orange County Automobile Dealers Association and the Southland Motor Car Dealers Association. Each year, the CIAS showcases a host of North American and worldwide introductions of production vehicles, hybrids, aftermarket vehicles and concept cars.
