Wulf Gaertner Autoparts To Help Nepal Earthquake Victims

Since news of the Nepal earthquake broke, there has been a collection box at Wulf Gaertner's head offices, where employees can make donations that will be added to the contribution made by the board of managers.

Wulf Gaertner - LogoHAMBURG, Germany – Hamburg, Germany-based manufacturer Wulf Gaertner Autoparts AG has decided to take immediate action to launch a fundraising campaign dedicated to benefiting SOS Children’s Villages in Nepal recently ravaged by an earthquake. The 7.8 magnitude earthquake and subsequent avalanche on April 25 killed more than 7,000 people, leaving thousands more homeless.

In the 1950s, Wulf Gaertner, founder of what is now an automotive spare parts manufacturer with a global footprint, spent many years living and working in South America. His commitment to SOS Children’s Villages dated back to that period of his life. Ever since, the company has been carrying on his legacy, supporting institutions dedicated to helping children in need.

“With the dramatic situation unfolding in Nepal, and mindful of the company’s humanitarian commitment, we are united in our effort to try and help alleviate at least some of the suffering,” said Marita Schwartze, head of human resources and board member at Wulf Gaertner Autoparts. “We are always impressed with how naturally our employees take ownership of our campaigns, if not launching one on their own initiative.”

Since news of the earthquake broke, there has been a collection box at the company’s head offices, where employees can make donations that will be added to the contribution made by the board of managers.
