LIQUI MOLY Reaches New Sales Record For August

The sales outshine results for every month in the 60-year history of the German oil and additive specialist.

In July, there was a record heatwave in Germany and, in August, LIQUI MOLY set a sales record of 50 million euros (approximately $59.50 million USD). The month’s sales outshines every monthly result in the 60-year company history of the German oil and additive specialist.

“To achieve such an outstanding result, particularly during the summer vacation period, is what is so remarkable,” said Ernst Prost, CEO of LIQUI MOLY. “We are not just talking about more sales here, but about significantly more work and performance. After all, additional tasks and orders had to be recorded, produced, commissioned and loaded.”

In March the company came close to sales of 50 million euros, but fell 800,000 euros (approximately $951,940 USD) short. However, it was enough to set a record. The result from August, according to the company, makes it a special record-breaking month, but the conditions make it an exceptional one. Prost says he expected a new record in the industry’s classically strong times of year during the spring and fall, but not in the usually quiet summer period, especially with a significant portion of the staff on vacation.

Over the past eight years, sales for LIQUI MOLY have more than doubled. Reflecting on the growth, Ernst Prost said, “We continuously try to top the records we have set. We have achieved this in August, the main vacation month, in the most impressive manner so far. Ten  million euros [in] more sales compared to the previous-year period and 20 percent growth.”
