RALEIGH , N.C. CARQUEST has announced it will relocate its Salt Lake City, Utah, Distribution Center to a newly constructed 110,000-square-foot facility by the end of the first quarter of 2014. The company says this new location will improve operating and energy efficiencies and provide better service to the CARQUEST Auto Parts stores in Utah, Nevada, Idaho and Wyoming that receive their products from the Salt Lake Distribution Center. The new location also will house a CARQUEST Auto Parts store.
“We continue to enhance and invest in our distribution network to provide unparalleled customer service,” said David McCartney, president CARQUEST U.S. “The new Salt Lake Distribution Center is only one example of how we are committed to improving our ability to serve CARQUEST Auto Parts stores in the region.”
Located on California Avenue, nearly 22,000 vehicles drive past the building each day. It is adjacent to Utah Highway 154, I-80, I-15 and I-215, allowing for convenient access for distribution center employees, as well as incoming and outgoing product shipments. CARQUEST says the new facility will be configured using state-of-the art material handling equipment, cross docking and a new RF scanner system.
