UPDATE: National Performance Warehouse Acquires Sacramento Wholesale Operations Of Performance Warehouse

This is the first of three planned acquisitions for NPW this year.

EDITOR’s NOTE: National Performance Warehouse has advised that it has only purchased the Sacramento, Calif., warehouse operations of Performance Warehouse in Portland, Ore., not the entire company.

MIAMI, Fla. – In the first of three acquisitions planned for 2013, National Performance Warehouse (NPW) has purchased the Sacramento, Calif., wholesale business unit of Performance Warehouse of Portland, Ore. The deal closed on May 10, 2013.

The Performance Warehouse facilities in Sacramento will become a Speed Warehouse location. The companies have a transition plan in place where jobber ordering, delivery and product availability will continue without interruption and as is the tradition of an NPW acquisition, the staff and management are being retained to service the customer base.

Larry Pacey, president and CEO of NPW, commented, “I have known the Moore family for quite a while. Our paths cross often at industry events common to our businesses.  As our model is strictly three-step and we are heavily vested in California, and the PW operations are three-step and two-step and have a larger presence elsewhere in the Northwest, it seemed NPW assuming the jobber business made sense so Performance Warehouse could concentrate in their core areas and strengths. This type of acquisition plays to our strong points and easily merges into our current strategy.”

JR Moore, president of Performance Warehouse, added, “The sale of our Sacramento Distribution Center to National Performance Warehouse will allow our company to refocus our sales efforts in our core areas of Oregon, Washington and Idaho with opportunities to add new independent jobber business and Baxter Auto Parts locations. Our retail division, Baxter Auto Parts, will continue to operate all of their existing stores in Northern California.”

Bob Baptiste will continue to manage the sales and operations out of Sacramento.

The National Performance Warehouse Companies operate five other facilities in California in: Vernon, Tustin, Sacramento (Arden), Hayward and its main facility in San Jose.
