Toledo Spring Marks 80 Years in Business

This third-generation, family owned company began as Toledo Auto Electric.

TOLEDO, Ohio – HDA Truck Pride member Toledo Spring is celebrating 80 years in business this year. Founded in 1932, by Gunnard Rubini, Toledo Spring is a third-generation, family owned business. The business began as Toledo Auto Electric back in the Great Depression, and in the mid 50s Toledo Spring Service and Toledo Perfection Spring were both acquired.

Today, Toledo Spring offers commercial vehicle parts and service, focused on providing electrical rebuilding, steering, suspension and brakes throughout Northwestern Ohio and Southeastern Michigan. Toledo Spring is known for its high quality and reliability with alignment services and VIS-enhanced diagnostics capabilities.

The third generation of the Rubini family has been running the business for the past 27 years with ambitious plans for expansion. Mark and Brad Rubini began their reign by relocating from a constricted downtown Toledo location to a business park just off Interstate I-75 in Toledo, Ohio. The new service location has now more than doubled, including 12 complete service bays and one alignment stall. The Rubinis provide hours that are convenient for their customer: Monday through Friday 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. These extended hours allows for same-day service, the company says.

“Our customers don’t make any money if their vehicles aren’t running and it’s our job to get them back on the road. We only install high-quality, brand-name products. That’s why we’re known for quality and reliability,” said Brad Rubini.

Toledo Spring services trucks, trailers, RVs, utility trailers and even classic cars.

Plans for an 80th anniversary celebration are under way after completion of their building expansion in the fall of 2012. The Rubini family says it plans to share this momentous event with customers, staff and vendors and looks forward to many more prosperous years servicing the greater Toledo market for commercial vehicle parts and service.
